RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Fruits de Ponent invests in research and experimental development. It also has a laboratory and its own team of technicians.

Collaborations with the University of Lleida (UdL)

  • An agreement to develop a research project for a new product derived from sweet fruit that has great microbial, textural and sensory qualities. Partner: Food Technology from the UdL Higher Agricultural College (27 August 2003).
  • An agreement for the quality control of manufacturing of canned peaches and pears. The UDL analyzed the control of suppliers and the finished product of Fruits de Ponent (28 July 2005).
  • An agreement to develop the project OPTIDOSA, which entails adapting the volume of water in the leaf mass of the tree. The objective is to minimize consumption and, consequently, the use of pesticides. The University of Lleida, Catalonia Agro-Food Research Institute and the Science and Agro-Food Park of Lleida participate in the project that began in 2009.

Participation in the Agro-Food Research Institute IRTA

Fruits de Ponent is a board member of the Experimental Station of Lleida by IRTA, the Agro-Food Research Institute of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Shareholders of the company Fruit Futur

Fruits de Ponent is a shareholder of the company Fruit Futur, an association that researches to find new varieties of apple, pear, peach, nectarine, flat peach and flat nectarine.
