FRUITS DE PONENT

PRESENTATION

Fruits de Ponent is a trading cooperative for fruit created in 1992 by four fruit production cooperatives. Approximately 200 family units cultivate one of the three most important producing areas of Europe. The plantations are located in the regions of Catalonia and Aragon, the valley of the River Ebro, and approximately 175 kilometres from Barcelona.

The gravelly, well drained land of the area and the climate, with over 900 hours of cold weather in winter and constant light in summer, favour the organoleptic qualities of the fruit.

Fruits de Ponent is an organization that supplies to companies on the national and international market.

The four producing cooperatives who compose Fruits de Ponent are:

• Camp d’Alcarràs i Secció de Crèdit, SCCL.
• Agrària Progressiva Benavent Portella, SCCL.
• Sociedad Cooperativa Hortofrutícola del Campo de Binaced.
• Ramell, SCCL.

Fruits de Ponent is committed to quality fresh fruit and preserving the environment. We use an agricultural system called integrated production, which certifies the product traceability from the field to issuance, and guarantees the food safety of the fruit by reducing the use of pesticides.

Fruits de Ponent has its own technical team and a laboratory that checks the excellence of the product. The Cooperative invests in innovation and research, together with the University of Lleida, to improve production. It also provides training to all its associates and employees.
